Fiberglass insulation, which uses tiny glass fibers to create the insulation material, has an R-value of approximately 2.2 to 2.7 per inch. This is significantly lower than both types of spray foam insulation in Oklahoma (Close-dcell and open-cell). Also, fiberglass insulation does not last nearly as long (less than 30 years in most cases).

Cellulose insulation uses recycled paper (usually newspaper) to create the insulation material. The R-value for cellulose insulation is around 3.2 to 3.5 per inch, which is still significantly less than spray foam insulation. Cellulose material also does not last nearly as long as spray foam.
